Cape Verde Very Popular for Brits
Cape Verde is becoming a highly popular location among British investors, a media report has stated. According to the Telegraph( www.telegraph.co.uk, the introduction of direct flights to the country has contributed to a surge in the amount of interest expressed by property buyers from the UK.
The newspaper said that authorities in Cape Verde had responded accordingly to the increased demand by developing new airports and launching direct flights to Britain. This means that the west African archipelago has become significantly more accessible and affordable for foreign investments.
As a result of the strong demand for property in Cape Verde, the housing market has experienced considerable growth over the last year. Figures cited by the Telegraph showed that house prices in the country have gone up by 20 per cent during the last 12 months, while a similar increase has been predicted for 2008.
Earlier this year, Cape Verde's national airline TACV began offering direct flights between Praia and London. The carrier said the service was introduced in response to strong demand from British consumers, including second home buyers.
